It’s no surprise that with summer temperatures arriving in Chicago Lollapolooza is fully on everyone’s mind and Bonnaroo is already in full swing. No matter where you live there are sure to be festivals every weekend – big or small. They can be some of the best days of summer but also a bit of a challenge fashion wise. Short shorts, exposed cheeks & bikini tops really aren’t my scene (if I’m not at a pool) and since last year was my first time attending I wasn’t sure what to expect!
Surprisingly, I loved the experience and found a few ways to make the day comfortable while still feeling chic. I thought I would share a few essentials I found for easy and comfortable festival style.
Pick Comfortable Footwear: I can not stress this enough. Despite wanting to wear some fun gladiator heels or mules I opted for flats and couldn’t have made a better choice. This year I plan on wearing these fun leather Teva slides. They are not only extremely comfortable but I love that there is no strap in the back and they look so chic in all black.
Have fun with patterns: I think anything lace, floral or bright is fun to experiment with at a festival. Although rompers can sometimes make for difficult bathroom breaks this one is super easy to unzip and one piece’s are always less hassle when choosing an outfit.
Carry a cross body: You will want to pack extra sunscreen, chap stick, lip gloss and a hair tie so grab something that is affordable and easy to carry on either shoulder. I loved the fringe detail on this bag and thought it matched my Teva’s perfectly.
Make sure to keep your hair and makeup simple. Last year I wore a flower crown and my hair down – although it was cute I took it off within an hour of being there and threw my hair up in a bun.
I will be wearing these Teva’s all summer long for way more than just festival season. They are the perfect slides for the beach or pool days and you don’t have to worry about getting them wet.
What are your festival season must have’s?
This post was sponsored by Teva. As always, all opinions are my own and thank you for supporting brands that make Lows to Luxe possible!
Love this look (and great tips for festival season). I’ve never been to Lollapalooza so the idea of attending is a bit overwhelming. Have a great week, Shaheen!
Thanks Jenn! Really? Last year was my first time and I was kind of scared but had SO much fun! You too!
Love this festival look! Now, we just need tickets to Lolla!
Thanks Blair – I knowwwwwww!
Festivals can be a ton of fun! But I definitely enjoy the ones where I get to go home and shower each day a lot more, haha. Time to stock up on some Tevas!
You and me both! They are insanely comfy and so cute!
Great tips! I definitely agree!

Great festival outfit, those sandals look really comfortable for a lot of walking and dancing! I’ve never been to Lolla, the street festivals are more my style! 🙂 Hope you have a good week girlfriend!
