Good morning and happy Monday!

I won’t lie, this is the happiest Monday I have woken up to in over a month. In case you missed the news over the weekend, Trevor is back home and off work this week. Although he is still at a distance and wearing a mask, his presence has brought back a sense of peace I didn’t realize I missed so much.

I’m not sure I have fully let go of the anxiety or stress in my back since he left and I honestly feel like I can breathe a little easier. I also wanted to say thank you to so many of you that have reached out and checked on us during this time. I know our situation isn’t dire and we are so lucky to be able to be home and healthy but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been difficult so I appreciate your thoughts and messages!

As for today’s post, I thought I would share a little update on the nursery! Progress is much slower than normal since I lack energy to really get things hung or organized these days but I’m hoping to get a lot tackled this week with Trevor home.

I did want to share what we have decided on and some thoughts about each of them in case you are looking!

Chair

I was so excited to find this chair at such an amazing price! Most rockers or gliders that looked similar were upwards of $1000 and to be honest I didn’t want a rocking chair or glider. I used a normal chair with Zain and my only must have was that it was wide enough for me to cross my legs in because that’s how I nursed with a boppy in my lap.

Thankfully when this arrived, it was as great as the reviews said! It does swivel, is incredibly soft and really deep. I can comfortable cross my legs and I think it looks great!

Lamp

I just ordered and set this up a week or so ago and love it! I have a similar lap in Zain’s room and it’s held up great. I loved how large and oversized this was and that I could scoot it right into the chair.

Side Table

I hunted this side table down for weeks! It’s not been available for delivery for quite some time but I loved the simple design and size. I was able to finally snag one and I love the way it looks!

Pouf

This is the same pouf I have in Zain’s room and we love them! I purchased them back in 2012 I think and they still look brand new. They are great as a foot rest or a place for a pregnant lady to sit.

Rug

I searched FOREVER for a rug for the nursery and finally went with a color! It’s no secret that I love mauve and I liked how simple and affordable this was. I just put a rug slip pad underneath which added some nice cushion and I think it brings the room together.

Bookshelves

I looked at acrylic bookshelves at a million retailers and some much more affordable options on Amazon but ultimately went with these. I wanted to make sure they were big enough, good construction and held up well and I love them!

Dresser

This is the dresser we moved from Zain’s room when he converted his to a big boy room. It has served us well for the past 3 years with him and still looks brand new. They sell it in a few colors and I highly recommend!

Changing Pad

This is again the same pad we had in Zain’s room and I loved it! Having something you can just wipe off instead of a fabric you have to keep washing is a game changer when you are changing hundreds of diapers 😉

Mirror

I love a large oversized mirror and this one is the perfect neutral for the room!

Crib

I shared this previously but we went with this classic black crib and I’m so happy with how it looks and feels! I wanted something different and bold for her room and I hope it matches her personality.

Lounger

I ended up ordering the Snuggle Me Organic this time around and a cover for it! We used the Dock a Tot last time around with Zain and loved it but figured I would try something new to move around the house.

Curtain Rods

I went black for the first time ever but I think they will look really clean and modern in the room to go with her crib! I didn’t realize they were backordered when I placed the order in March so hopefully those arrive soon so I can get her curtains hungs.

Curtains

I switched it up this time and went with a different brand! I have West Elm curtains in Zain and our bedroom and love them but thought I would try a new style. I went with the white linen version with blackout lining and love the way they look out of the package. Can’t wait to see them hung!

Still to do…

I have picked out our wallpaper and just need to finish hanging it on the wall behind the crib! Stay tuned for that 🙂

I need to find one or two pieces of artwork for the wall next to the dresser but haven’t decided what I want.

I need a good throw pillow for the chair and haven’t been able to find what I want! I would like something that is useful and not just for decor so thinking a good lumbar pillow.

Still undecided on the light fixture but need to pick something out this week! Most retailers have delayed shipping and I now realize to have it delivered before the baby arrives, I should probably get going. I want a natural rattan feel and these are a few I’m looking at!

Hope you are all having a wonderful start to your week!
