With the new weather rolling in, it’s time to prep that work wardrobe! Since I only occasionally dress up for work, I like to have pieces on hand that will take me from desk to drinks that I can also use on the weekends.
It always seems like a waste to have clothes restricted for work, but I think people tend to buy less stylish and fun pieces for work – but you don’t have to do that. I think there are some easy ways to keep your work look classic and professional but mix it up to make fun weekend wear.
I rounded up 10 pieces I think are essential for fall by Tahari ASL. Interchangeable shades and cuts are crucial and you want the pieces to be as versatile as possible.
First, think blazers. Just don’t limit your self to a traditional style! I included a few of my favorites like this military inspired black blazer with gold detailing and this gorgeous cut out piece. They are perfect for a professional look but would be beautiful with a silky camisole and jeans for the weekend!
Also, focus on layering pieces. This faux suede open jacket and striped vest may seem too ‘out of the box’ but they are just the opposite. The colors are classic and can be mixed and layered over everything from tees to button down shirts for new looks.
Keep your camisoles classic and simple. It’s much easier to keep the base of your outfit simple and add fun touches in layering. This black tank is one of my favorites and is perfect for every season!
After that keep a trouser, pencil skirt and classic shift dress on hand. I try to stick to darker shades for fall that work well with everything and are always flattering. Although the dress is a brighter blue, I loved the metal detailing so much.
What do you guys keep in rotation for your work week?
