Guys, I can’t believe I’m already half way through this pregnancy. I think for so long I was hiding it and then convincing myself it wasn’t really happening that the beginning just flew by. I thought it would be fun to share some insight into what life is like now since I’ve been getting so many sweet comments and questions!

Feeling: Really good! So far, I can’t complain. I haven’t been having much pain besides a little lower back discomfort on occasion. I feel like my belly doubles in size every day when I wake up but I know I’m hardly there. It’s also interesting how different it looks as the day goes on, it fluctuates like crazy – anyone else?

Eating: EVERYTHING! I can’t seem to keep myself full. I am trying to be healthy during the week since we tend to go out on the weekends so I have to be prepared at all times with 15 different snacks. I am loving fruit still, nuts and Noosa yogurt!

Sleeping: Ugh, not good. I am not a great sleeper to begin with and now that I am up several times a night to use the restroom I find myself awake from about 3am on most days. I don’t know how to remedy the situation and Trevor is not into me waking him up to chat, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!

Wearing: More non maternity clothes than maternity. I love my new Madewell maternity jeans that fit like a glove but have found most of my non maternity clothes still fit. The tighter silhouette on my shape looks and make me feel better so I’ve been rocking some midi dresses and cardigans

Shopping: Avoiding it. I still haven’t bought a thing for the baby. We are just now thinking about unpacking the crib and then I will really start diving into the nursery. Did you catch last week’s post on nursery inspo? I need help so please weigh in!

Reading: My sweet friend Lauren sent me Great with Child and I have been reading that every night before bed. It’s such a sweet read and the books on nursing, schedules and such became a little too overwhelming for me so I took a break.

Craving: I still haven’t really had any. I guess Orange Juice is the only thing I consistently can’t wait to have and that makes me sounds so lame. I have been dreaming of Sweet Mandy B’s iced sugar cookies for quite some time, so need to make that happen! However, that was a normal life craving long before I got pregnant.

I felt extra pregnant this day and I’m not sure if it was the stripes but my jeans were a lifesaver. Being a legitimate cranky pants is real and I was starting to have a bad attitude in my normal jeans. This Madewell pair sits below the belly and I love the raw open hem and distressed knees. They have a ton of cute styles and I snagged this black pair too!

I’m glad you like the book!! I had the 3am wake ups and not being able to fall back to sleep…unfortunately that will continue even when the baby comes πŸ˜‰

  2. Jess Zimlich says:

I was going to say…I crave those cookies and I’m not even pregnant haha πŸ˜‰ You look amazing, Shaheen!! Also, I’ve been waking up at 3am each morning for weeks now sooo not sure what that says about me. I’ve been trying to read a few pages in a book to get me back to sleep, but sometimes I just crank the music and wait to see if I get tired again. I hope you’re able to get some solid rest soon!

    • Exactly – it’s just me treating myself at this point πŸ˜‰ Awww, you are so sweet – as I start to feel more pregnant I’m learning to love the new bod! Is it something in the air? Lack of sunshine? I hope it passes soon! Sad I’m missing you tomorrow – all the good vibes for your event πŸ™‚

      • Jess Zimlich says:

Perhaps it was the lack of sunshine! I finally slept through the night last night. I hope you did, too! Thank you πŸ™‚ It ended up being a really great time and I’m so glad I pushed myself out of my comfort zone! Hope to see you soon!

  3. Rebecca says:

We have that crib and get many compliments on it! I’m not in LP often, but get my hair done right down the street from Sweet Mandy Bs and I ALWAYS have to get cookies first! I know they’re known for their cupcakes, but I think the cookies steal the show!! You look great! Unfortunately no suggestions for sleep, by the end I was seriously peeing at least 5 times a night! ????

  4. Britney says:

You look great! I love your bag and those loafers! I’m making a mental note for the future about those jeans. They don’t look maternity at all!

  5. Nichole says:

Hi Shaheen, happened upon your blog randomly and it made me smile to see you and Trevor doing well. Congratulations on your baby!
