Last week I was so excited for Wednesday I could barely contain myself! For weeks Blair, Kelly, Jess & I just couldn’t seem to find a day that worked with everyone’s schedule. We finally set a date we could all make and I know we were all so excited to see each other. Everyone’s travel schedule had been crazy and I hadn’t seen Kelly in over a month (when your friend is pregnant that seems like forever) and hadn’t seen Jess since she got engaged!

We started the day off trying on wedding dresses and it was so fun! Watching Jess try on different styles and colors was so special and I was happy we got to do it together. I was dubbed ‘booty patrol’ since I seemed to be so focused on what the booty looked like in every dress. After stopping by boutiques in River North and Lincoln Park we grabbed lunch at Summer House Santa Monica.

For some reason we let the pregnant woman talk us into what to order and by the end of the meal after a warm sea salt chocolate chip cookie covered with a scoop of ice cream we all realized that was a bad idea. Kelly felt great and everyone else had a stomach ache.

I normally reserve Wednesday’s to get all my blog work done. Writing, emails, contracts and deadlines are all important things but this was a great reminder that taking a day off to be with your girlfriends is good for the soul. I’m so thankful for so many of the friends I’ve met since being in Chicago and it was such a fun day I wish I could do over and over again.

I decided to wear something stretchy and comfortable and this new Lou & Grey maxi was the first thing I reached for. It does run fairly big so make sure to order down a size and I paired it with almost all grey pieces. I love a monochromatic look and think the lace up sandals added a fun edge to it.

I know I mentioned it a while back but this tote bag is my everyday work bag and if you happen to be in the market I don’t think there is anything better, especially for the price!
