Good morning and hello!
I feel like it’s been a while since we’ve caught up and honestly this summer felt a like a bit of a blur. We didn’t travel a ton last summer with the kids but managed to make it happen this year which was fun but also had me losing track of time. We are freshly back from the Bahamas and the kids headed back to school Tuesday so I have a little time to get organized this week.
The trip was an absolute blast and I saved what I could to a highlight over on Instagram but if you have any questions feel free to send them my way. I really tried to disconnect and just spend time with the kids so I didn’t post any stories or share much in real time but am happy to share now!
So, let’s get into it:
Have you listened? My girlfriend Anna has been telling me to listen. to this for months and I finally did on our road trip to the lake a few weeks ago. It is an absolutely wild story that does get a bit confusing at some points but had us hooked! If you are looking for a new podcast I highly recommend.
On the same note, I took this book on our Bahamas trip and absolutely devoured it. I love her books when I want something light and easy to read but this book pulled me in and had me crying from start to finish. I love diving into the restaurant business and of course life on Nantucket but the love story between Thatcher and Adrienne was so sweet. I just picked up The Nantucket Hotel because it apparently fills in where some of the other restaurant staff is now.
Looking at Fall
Everyone is releasing their new fall pieces and I admit I have succumbed to some new pieces. I am on the hunt for the perfect black boot this year! I invested in my brown boots over 5 years ago and have never looked at another and that’s what I’m hoping to do with this black pair. I want something with a low heel that feels very classic so I ordered this pair and this pair to try. I also just got these ballet flats in the mail because I know these Mary Jane’s will be everywhere in the fall and I love their shoes. They always run TTS for me and rank high on the comfort level with no break in needed.
Did you all see the new season is out? We are obsessed with this show and honestly the opening scene and theme song bring me great joy! I think it is only 3 episodes in but we will see how it shakes out. I’m not sure they can surpass what they did last season!
You all know I am a loyal fan of the brand and they just released their new fall pieces! I know they are an investment but I personally think it’s so worth it. I live in a lot of athleisure on the weekends with the kids, for drop off and pickup, and to and from workout classes now and their pieces hold up. They are also made from the most insanely soft material! I do find most things to have an oversized fit so if you like more fitted silhouettes I would size down. At the top of my list are this and this!
This is not a new recipe for us but one I haven’t made for a while and I can’t wait to devour it! Trevor has been cooking since we got back from our trip so I’m actually excited to get into the kitchen again.
