Life Lately XIV

TGIF y’all! How was everyone’s week? I was excited to finally share our Arizona travel guide this week and appreciate all the feedback on our current dining room situation! I am also currently content planning for my maternity leave, figuring out if guest posts are a good idea and generally trying to get ahead before I give birth. So, please let me know what you guys would like to see as far as style posts, recipes, home decor, motherhood and I will make it happen!

Talk Derby To Me: I couldn’t be  more sad to miss out on Derby weekend again this year but Trevor and I are hoping to take a bunch of friends home next year for the festivities! Since, we can’t make it back we decided to throw a fun Cinco de Mayo/Derby party this weekend so that should help ease the pain! Anyone going that I can live vicariously through? I can’t wait to see all the fashion!

Nom Nom: Besides baby prep everything has been good and we have been eating out a lot. Some of the most frequent advice we get is to take advantage of date nights and meals out when it’s just the two of us so we have been trying to take advantage of all the time we have. Over the last few weeks we have tried Eden (see photos) and really enjoyed it. It’s reinvented American and Mediterranean and everything was really fresh and flavorful not to mention the space is beautiful. We’re set to go to Duck Duck Goat this coming weekend on Sunday for date night and I can barely contain myself. I love Chinese food and haven’t found anywhere good in the city besides a few places in China town, which we rarely make it over to. This place is Stephanie Izard’s new concept that I have heard great things about so fingers crossed, I’ll let you know how it is!

Weekend Happenings: Besides our dinner reservations, I loved the One of A Kind Show last weekend. Thank you for all your vendor recommendations, I was excited to explore and found some unique pieces for the nursery!

New In: I haven’t had time to shoot and post full looks with some of the new pieces I have gotten in but wanted to share them with you here first! I’ve updated the shop area on the sidebar of my homepage so be sure to check there from now on for any new buys! Since I tend to find stuff either on sale or at a super affordable price, they can sell out so quickly. This way I can let you guys know before the post goes up a few weeks later! These Everlane loafers and slides just arrived and I am OBSESSED. The craftsmanship of the brand is impeccable and when Trevor saw me open them and try them on he asked me if they made men’s shoes and then got online to look, ha. Sadly, they don’t make shoes but do make some awesome clothes and products for men so if you are in the market check it out. A sizing note on these, make sure to order 1/2 size up! They run on the small side but that half size increase had them fitting perfectly.

I also had some people asking about the rug pictured, you can snag it here and it’s the one from the nursery. It’s super affordable and the quality is amazing, I’m sure Baby T will appreciate it, ha!

Chop Chop: I stopped in a new salon, Spoke and Weal a few weeks ago to get my hair trimmed before this baby comes.  As much as I wanted to chop it all off I fought the urge since I knew I would be very appreciative of being able  to throw it up in a ponytail very soon. I love my stylist Amanda and she convinced me to start using a dry shampoo and I have become obsessed. Since I wash my hair everyday (I know, I know!) I had never thought it would do anything for me. She actually recommended me using it to add texture, especially in the back and I have been loving what it does to my hair. If you haven’t tried one, I really like the Aveda Shampure

Hope you all have an amazing weekend and get to celebrate Derby and Cinco de Mayo!
