Anyone else love a good outdoor summer party? The second night of the RewardStyle Conference may have been my favorite. It was a garden party thrown by Joe Fresh and so dreamy! Think swings covered in roses, flower walls & croquet. I feel like when summer rolls around (especially in Chicago) we have outdoor plans every weekend. My wardrobe them mainly consists of light summer dress like this one I’ve been living in and midi skirts and crop tops. I think crops are here to stay and I usually find myself pairing them with midi skirts for proportion reasons. I know I have said how in love with ties I am and I thought the front tie on this was adorable. It’s super affordable but does run a little big so I would definitely size down. It’s also a great length that if you don’t want any skin showing – it’s long enough to tuck into whatever bottom you choose.

A pleated midi skirt has been on my list since last season but every one I could get my hands on was too expensive for my taste. I was so happy to see them in more places this season and both ASOS and J.Crew have adorable ones. I know I have said it before but if you think you won’t get much use out of a midi skirt, think again. They have quickly become one of my most used pieces during the summer.

After the garden party we headed to a restaurant called Neighborhood Services and had one the yummiest burgers I’ve ever gotten my hands on. If you happen to make it in I also highly recommend the mac and cheese – it has a bit of a smoky flavor with some kick!
