buy buy registry how to

In partnership with buybuy BABY.

Ahh, so excited to finally share this post with you guys. Trevor and I have been preparing for baby and I think my ‘nesting’ has finally set in. Remember when I shared my earlier post on how overwhelmed I was registering for Baby T? Well, despite all the wonderful advice we got and countless online reviews I read, I still had a bit of trouble really committing to anything.

After compiling my master list of what we needed, we were still kind of at a loss. Everyone had such great advice for what worked for them but it’s always different for each baby so figuring out your own child’s needs before your baby even arrives is kind of hard. Is he going to be calm and sweet like Trevor or is he going to be feisty and opinionated like me? We can all hope and pray for the former!

Reading online reviews was also a bit overwhelming, so although we originally thought an in store appointment was unnecessary we realized we needed to actually test out and feel things, especially as first time parents. Luckily, buybuy BABY came to the rescue and we decided to schedule an in store appointment with our sweet associate Dominique. After experiencing it, I can’t recommend it enough. We never did this when we got married and it was actually a whole lot more fun than I had anticipated! Watching Trevor do ‘dad things’ in the store was probably the highlight, just check the video out!

Your in store associate will meet and greet you when you arrive for your appointment and walk you through each section step by step. Originally, I thought this was something I didn’t need. I am usually pretty adamant about what I want but there are so many things to consider and she really helped us narrow down the best options for our lifestyle and city apartment. I am very aware of how little space we have so was really keen on not getting anything bulky, especially if we didn’t need it and Dominique always had the perfect solution!

After visiting some boutique baby stores in the city, I am really thankful we decided on buybuy BABY. We were able to get the few higher end items we wanted and still register for all the basics without having to think about going to a million different other places.

Since I’ve been getting so many questions on what we chose, I thought I would share a list of our top picks and everything we learned at our appointment!

UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller

Ahh, so excited for this! As you may have seen on my social media we received our new stroller already and I am in love. As Trevor likes to say, “I’m sure Baby T will love it” Okay, okay I am aware he may not know the difference but the new fabrics and leather accessories are to die for. In addition to the pretty new touches they added, this was the stroller that was recommended to us by everyone—especially city dwellers. Living on the second floor and foreseeing lots of stroller folding and carrying, I wanted to make sure we invested in something narrow enough to make it through city sidewalks and not kill my arms and back to fold up and carry. After a bit of practice, we’re pro’s at the opening and closing (it’s literally a few clicks) and can’t wait to get our little guy in it.

UPPAbaby Mesa Car Seat

The accompanying infant car seat is perfect for transitioning when coming home from the hospital and the safety ratings are top notch. We plan to use this until he outgrows it so we can seamlessly move him from car to stroller without waking him and make our life a little easier. Don’t forget to grab the accompanying base and if you want to pick up an additional for another car, I think it’s a great idea!

Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair

Although we may not need this for a few months, it was one of my biggest concerns. With very little extra space in our place I knew I wanted something minimal that could transition and this chair seemed to answer all those prayers. The chair is sleek and converts to accommodate all ages as the child grows. It doesn’t take up a ton of space and looks great with our dining set!

BabyBjorn Bouncer

After buying and returning several bouncers that were either too bulky, I was afraid wouldn’t soothe, or didn’t fit our space we finally decided on this one. We heard great things about this bouncer from so many friends and loved that it was so low profile. It’s also the perfect size to easily move around our place when we need to. We grabbed the toy bar to latch across the front so hopefully Baby T can amuse himself one day while mommy gets things done, that happens right?!

Ergobaby 4-Position 360 Baby Carrier

I had my eye on this before we even knew if it was a boy or girl. Obviously my heart skipped a beat when I saw this new grey pattern and I love that it can transition all the way from infant, with the insert, to big boy. Trevor is most excited about ‘wearing’ Baby T so watching him figure out how to put this thing on was not only heartwarming but hilarious.

Ergobaby Natural Curve Nursing Pillow

After spending lots of time with my nieces and nephew, I have had my fair share of nursing pillow experiences. Although, I wasn’t personally nursing them I fed many a bottles to those babies and used a boppy to try to help. Sadly, they were always at a weird height for me and it was kind of uncomfortable. It will be definitely be different when I am attempting to nurse this time around but since I had a few hand me down’s, I decided to register for this one. I have heard great things about the design and it felt a bit more comfortable when we tested it out, so fingers crossed and I will keep you updated!

Babyletto Husdon 3-in-1 Convertible Crib

This was another one of our first decisions. I loved the brand’s affordability and sleek modern design. It was tough to choose a color palette but Trevor really like the mix of dark wood and white and we loved that it could convert to a toddler bed easily!

Dohm Sound Machine

This was the one thing everyone told us to register for! It was a no brainer and I have heard nothing but great things about the brand. I know my nieces and nephew won’t sleep without it and if it allows parents to not have to worry about being silent I’m all for it.

Lullaby Earth Breeze 2-Stage Crib Mattress

We went back and forth on mattress for a while but Dominique really helped us narrow this down. It comes with a built in waterproof cover and can transfer to the toddler bed easily. Although a little pricier, it saved us from adding an additional waterproof cover and worrying about upgrading when we transition the bed.

Bumbo Changing Pad

How cute is this? Since we have a few hand me down traditional changing pads we are going to keep in our bedroom, I was so excited to discover this sleek one at buybuy BABY. I love that the material is easy to wipe down so I’m not having to take covers off and wash them daily!

Medela Freestyle Breast Pump

This brand was the most familiar to me and I already had some of the corresponding bottles from a friend. Like everything, I think this is totally personal preference but Dominique had great things to say about it and the new Sonata!

Puj Soft Infant Bath Tub

Affordable, easy to manage and the perfect size for our city sink! This will make me far less worried about him slipping down into one of those plastic tubs and I love how soft and easy to clean it is!

Baby registering is SOOOOO overwhelming!!! Having the assistance of an associate that isn’t related to you 😉 is PERFECT!! We got an UppaBaby with baby #1 and used it with all three…OBSESSED with it. All three of my kiddos still use their sound machines and now my hubby and I need to have an app on our phone for it when we are away bc we are so used to hearing it through the monitors…hahaha GOOD LUCK, you look GORGEOUS!!
