what’s better than fries? AVOCADO fries.
yes, you heard me. who knew such a thing could be so lovely. as you guys know trevor is studying away for boards and i have been trying to make healthy delicious snacks to keep around the house so he can feel good. i used all whole wheat and organic ingredients and threw in the panko for the amazing crunchy taste. a couple things before completing the steps below: make sure to beat the egg white mixture until it has a frothy look, combine breadcrumbs with panko and seasonings in a bowl, & spray your baking sheet.
- slice the avocados to preferred thickness
- dip in whole wheat flour to cover
- dip in egg white mixture
- dip and cover in combined mixture of breadcrumbs & panko
- place on aluminum foil or baking sheet
once finished broil for 5 minutes then flip and broil for an additional 2 minutes. since my husband loooves dips i added this spicy mayo. it’s not the healthiest but all i do is combine olive oil mayo and sirracha and season. these were so simple, took a matter of minutes, & delicious with and without the dip! let me know how you like them and if you have an tweaks you give your own!
ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
1/4 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
1/4 cup panko
2 large egg whites
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 tsp chili powder
lemon to taste
