your clean beauty makeup recommendations

Good morning!

Today’s post is one I’ve been working on for a while and am excited to finally share what I decided on and all of your recommendations too! I shared on Instagram stories how most of my skincare regimen has switched over to clean products and how I was hoping to do the same with my makeup.

I mostly used Bare Minerals and Tarte prior which are cleaner on the spectrum but still not totally toxic free brands. I am not throwing everything out and being that drastic about this but am slowly hoping to incorporate more clean brands and slowly phase out what I have. I shared exactly what I’m currently using here in case you want a peek but will keep today’s post to just clean brands and products!

So, after getting all of your messages and browsing online I decided on the Beautycounter Flawless in Five. I have used a few Beautycounter products for years and actually had no idea it wasn’t sold in stores. I used their baby products on Zain (the oil and balm were miracle workers when he was little!) and recently switched to their sunscreen. The stick has been a lifesaver for me with him, it fits in my tote and I can apply it on him while he’s running.

Honestly, the price just couldn’t be beat. I could get everything I needed for my everyday makeup for $150 and when I added other various brands to my cart at Sephora it was way beyond that. I figured it was a good place to start and I could always expand from there. I have been pleasantly surprised and really liked everything so far. I shared video of me applying everything on stories and saved it to my Beauty highlight in case you want to see the textures.

*UPDATE: I just saw that they started their Sun Set promotion so wanted to share! If you spend $125 today you will receive a 3 oz. Countersun Sunscreen Mist and 1 oz. Countersun Sunscreen lotion for FREE!*

After I snagged that I actually tried the RMS concealer and the Bite beauty matte lip! I sadly returned the RMS because it was far too shiny for my skin and I didn’t love the look as the day went. However, many of you said you loved it so I think it’s worth a try! I have absolutely loved the Bite Beauty lip I snagged. I think it is still 50% off and so worth it. It stays on all day and is so easy to layer.

I included the rest of your recommendations along with a few things I’ve ordered to try below and thank you again for all your help on this journey!

Your recommendations:

Beautycounter – Most people said they loved everything but the mascara. Tint Skin, Highlighter and Brow Gel were at the top!

Mineral Fusions – The whole line but the mascara is supposed to be amazing! Just bought it and am trying it this weekend 🙂

Kosas Tinted Face Oil

Glossier

Cocokind Makeup

Lily Lolo Mascara

RMS Concealer

100% Pure

Gressa Foundation

W3LL People – I had a ton of this stuff years ago and liked it, ordered some this week!

Vapour Beauty

Ilia Cosmetics

Caudalie

Bite Beauty

Also, a lot of you said this and I agree but Credo Beauty is a great place to turn if you are curious about brands or clean products. There was a storefront in Bucktown down the street from our place and I would stop in there once a week haha. They can get you samples of anything and it’s nice to be able to try things before you commit since everyone’s skin is different and beauty products can be pricey.

If you have any questions at all feel free to reach out, excited to share more along the way!
