How could this dress not brighten up your day? I was immediately drawn to this yellow color as soon as I saw it and now it’s on sale, what could be better?! The weather this ‘winter’ has been magical (well, till today) and it’s allowed us Chicagoans to dress for spring far earlier than ever before. It’s always a bit of the ‘Is this too good to be true?’ feeling, but I am trying to enjoy every warm minute because I knew this snow would be returning!

Lace is always a big trend for spring and summer and I picked up a few new pieces in addition to this dress to accommodate my ever expanding body. Off the shoulder picks have always been a favorite for spring but now more than ever they rank at the top of my list. My shoulders are one of the few attributes not currently expanding and most off the shoulder tops are loose enough to make room for baby T. I rounded up 12 pieces I love, including some great wedding guest dresses and casual tops that would pair so well with jeans or shorts!

Since the weather was cooperating, we decided to head down to the Planetarium and walk along the lake before our date night at Le Colonial. Trevor and I have really been trying to take advantage of our weekend date nights before the baby arrives! On one hand, we literally can not wait to hold our sweet boy and on the other, we are trying to soak up every carefree moment we have with just to the two of us. Since Le Colonial is down in the Gold Coast, it’s not often that I get there and Trevor had never been!

It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the city and so perfect for a date night! It’s dimly lit, romantic and the food is so light and delicious! If you happen to be in the area and haven’t tried it, I totally reccomend stopping in.

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend—we got back pretty late last night from Louisville. We had been in town for my baby shower, which I can’t wait to share with you guys. It was such a dream and although I am going into this week super tired, we are so grateful for all of our wonderful family and friends. More on that to come and stay tuned for the rest of our pregnancy journey coming to the blog tomorrow!
