The weekend before Charleston I headed to the Create + Cultivate conference that was being held here in Chicago and was excited to bust out these culottes again. They were an absolute steal from Loft and I will be wearing them all fall that’s for sure. I know people have mixed feelings about them but I’m happy to embrace a trend that is comfortable, loose fitting & allows me to eat. We don’t get a lot of those in fashion ladies so let’s take it 🙂
I had been excited to attend this conference for some time and it was my first since becoming a ‘blogger’ i was hoping to gain some insight on turning a brand into a business and general inspiration but was sadly left wanting more.
There were a few highlights for me though and it had to be the first panel of women entrepreneurs who have accomplished so much and were so intelligent and driven when speaking. One in particular, Jodi Patterson who is the founder of DooBop and mom of 5 had some sage advice. She said instead of going to sleep every night wishing you could have done more have ‘touch points’ each day. As long as she lays down each night and has ‘touched’ on each part of her life she feels fulfilled. I have had serious difficulty lately letting go of having everything done or feeling like I could have done more and this hit home with me. things can’t always be complete at the end of the day but if you have touched on each of those important areas of your life you can feel a sense of relief.
Do you guys ever feel like that and what do you do to manage it?
Shaheen, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!! I adore these photos — goodness, Lady. You’re killing it. Where have you BEEN, though?! I miss you in my life! Are you around tomorrow?!
XOXO!
