How To Trick Yourself Into Drinking More Water Every Day

 strawberry cucumber water recipe

Drink 8 ounces of water 8 times a day. How many times have I heard that and how many days did I actually achieve that before? None. Lately I’ve been trying to track my water intake especially when I’m at work because my staff is so good about hydrating all day and I quickly noticed I wasn’t. I found myself never reaching for water first probably because it just never seems exciting or flavorful. It’s such an easy way boost my immune system (which I always need), consume less sugar & sleep better so I’ve really been trying to be better about it.

I decided to invest in a Brita© filter when we moved and loved the sleek way this new style looked. I had one going through college and dental school but they were never this modern and fun looking and I liked that it actually fit a ton of water. The fridge in our new place doesn’t have a filter installed so it works perfectly for us without taking up too much room. Tap water in Chicago is not the most drinkable so filtering it is essential! It also saves us from having to purchase plastic bottles at the store which can be so wasteful and reduces our carbon footprint.

I snagged our filter at Jewel Osco while we were grocery shopping in the neighborhood and I love the convenience of being able to snag the extra filters when we need them right down the street. You can grab the filter at any Safeway Alberston’s store and everything for my favorite flavored water recipe too!

To help me stay on track I have been drinking warm water with lemon in the morning to start the day (it’s supposed to help a ton with your skin too) and taking a flavored water to work with me. I also try to create a new flavor for the weekend that feels like a cocktail without all the sugar. I’ve tried a ton of different combinations over the past month but my favorite thus far is probably this strawberry cucumber mint!

If you’re struggling with the same thing I totally recommend snagging a Brita and keeping track of your intake. Writing this down is a little too tedious for me during the day so I just try to remember how many glasses I’ve had and get to the goal each day. What have you guys done that has made it easier?

I’m also excited to be giving away a filter! Make sure to follow me on Twitter and you can re-tweet my post to enter – so easy & simple! No Purchase Necessary. Ends June 10, 2016 at 11:59 PM EST. Subject to complete Official Rules. #FuelWithBrita
