Since giving up coffee a while ago, I have been doing far better than I previously thought I would. After the initial switch, I haven’t had many moments of missing a cup of hot coffee until recently when it got cold. Something about cold weather just makes you crave a warm beverage in your hand and drinking tea has been the best substitute for me.
I have always been a tea lover. I would normally drink it at night to relax and soothe my body but I know enjoy it in the morning and during the day. I stick to mostly non caffeinated teas but will sometimes enjoy a green flavor that has a low level.
I recently discovered Pure Leaf tea and have been loving their loose and bagged tea. They are created from fresh tea leaves mixed with petals, herbs and fruit! I love how committed they are to sustainability and am happy to support their efforts to source the freshest tea in a responsible way.
Not only has giving up caffeine helped my body tremendously, it’s really changed my sleeping habits. I found myself, like most women never waking up feeling energized or ready to take on the day. I realized most of my female friends were experiencing the same things, so I tried a few natural changes to fix that!
Tea was a great help in relieving my headaches and helping me get more consistent sleep without waking up with anxiety or to do lists running through my head. I totally reccomend a cup of chamomile tea with some honey in it before bed to see if it may help you. Sometimes, if I’m feeling fancy I will infuse dried lavender with it as well!
I generally stick to a hot tea unless it’s during the hot summer and then I’ll trade it in for the iced version. Having tea infuser cups and a pot are a lifesaver! You can keep your loose tea or bag in the center holder and allow it to steep for a few minutes before enjoying. If I decide to infuse it, I can just toss that in there as well and allow it to sit.
I really noticed changes in my mood and body without my morning coffee. I’m more inclined to drink a lot more water and find my appetite a little more blanaced. Have you guys ever tried to quit coffee? I know it’s a tall order but I totally reccomend it, even for a few weeks to see if it will help you!
The new Pure Leaf Tea is the perfect substitue and you can grab them at any Kroger or Kroger owned store (Mariano’s for you Chicago people!) Be sure to let me know what you think and here’s to a restful nights sleep!
