Last Wednesday started in the best way possible, breakfast at Summer House Santa Monica. If you guys haven’t ever been and live in Chicago it’s a must. Also, if you are visiting it is the perfect stop in Lincoln Park and such a big space the wait is never terrible. Hush Puppies hosted the most beautiful event full of spring flowers, a mimosa & bloody mary bar and the yummiest food. We had a chance to view their new collection and I love the edgy direction they are going in.

Although I was not excited about the current cold weather situation here in Chicago I was excited to have a chance to wear this new pink peplum top. I love the detail and cut out on the side so much. I had been longing for a Club Monaco version for months and could never get myself to spend $200 on a sweater so when I saw this one for such a steal I immediately grabbed it. The sweater material is thick and warm and the pleats flare out so well.

I immediately thought to pair this pink peplum top with my high waist light blue jeans and since the forecast called for rain all day I threw on my hunter boots & this green anorak. I normally am never a girl for rain boots but heels are not realistic when it’s raining and they work so well for this in between weather when it’s not cold enough for snow boots and not warm enough for sneakers! I remember trying these Hunter boots back in college and hating them. They were super heavy and I couldn’t walk in them. I think they’ve done an awesome job with the brand because they now feel light and comfortable on my feet! Also, I can’t say enough good things about this new coat! If you follow along on Instagram you have probably seen it a million times but it is the perfect neutral to go with everything and so light and easy to throw on with this weather.
