I know I mentioned earlier in the week that basics have quickly become the core of my wardrobe and what I most often reach for. Due to that fact I have been on the search for the best tee’s for quite some time. I told you I found a favorite grey one at Old Navy a while ago that you have probably seen far too often on Instagram. Since then, I have been stocking up on summer tee’s and tanks from Old Navy and trying most of the fits from boyfriend to relaxed. Their preshrunk which I seriously appreciate and are actually soft and not see through – the hardest things to find.

Last weekend Trevor and I headed down to West Loop for a fun day date. He had been on night float for a while and we hadn’t really seen much of each other for a few weeks. We stopped by Bombobar which is the walk up window for Bar Siena and grabbed some coffee and bombolini’s. It’s such a great neighborhood and every corner has a new restaurant or cafe opening up and it seems like we can never get to them all. Since the weather has been so finicky I decided to add some layers and threw on a few of my weekend basics.

I’ve been mixing the tee’s into several outfits and finding ways to make them my own. I generally love a side tuck (don’t ask why I am so into my old middle school habits) or tying them up in the front. It looks equally chic with a pair of ripped denim, shorts or even a midi skirt. I am a huge fan of pairing casual pieces with fancier ones to keep it cool and casual and think the top half of this outfit would work with a fun skirt too.

Every piece I’m wearing is actually from Old Navy and was under $115 total with their killer sale. I had been on the hunt for a jean jacket and saddle bag for so long and couldn’t have been happier to find them at such affordable prices. I loved mixing the darker shades with the blush bag and appreciate that you can mix in different colors and patterns to make it your own.

What ways have you guys styling your tees? I think they are the easiest piece to try new trends or fun colors and patterns since they are so casual and accessible. Add a neck scarf or tie it up & don’t be scared to try new things you have been thinking about because you always have room for more comfy tee’s in your closet.

Hope you have an easy Friday & don’t forget to follow along on our travels this weekend!
