Trevor graduated guys! Residency is over and I just can’t believe how quickly it flew by (well for me ha) I am so insanely proud of my husband and although he’s not into being on the blog & social media I still have to tell you proud I am of him. He has one year left to go of fellowship and than all his hard work and training will be done!

In an effort to not make his gradation day about me or this blog I decided to get some photos of the dress I was wearing earlier. Hence why my hair, makeup and accessories are a wee bit different than what you saw on Instagram. By the time the dinner rolled around I had changed my mind about all those pieces but could not have loved the way this dress looked anymore!

I was excited to browse Rent the Runway for something fun for the occasion. It’s such an easy go to for me for cocktail parties or weddings. Cocktail dresses aren’t something I ever wear again so it seems silly for me to buy something when I can rent something so expensive for so little. I searched the site forever and finally settled on this sleek black Nicholas cut out dress. I loved the style and design and thought it was fun but classy at the same time.

Often, I am scared of a body con dress like this but it was so helpful to read the reviews and pictures attached. I could tell the fabric was super thick and not skin tight which was true and a total lifesaver. Definitely order a size up & it will fit like a glove. Not too tight and thick enough to not show every inch of your figure. Since the dress said so much I kept the accessories simple with a black strap heel and classic makeup with an edgy ear cuff.

We had such a blast at their dinner at Wildfire and went out for celebratory drinks with his co-residents after at Hampton Social. I guess they were really going for the Hampton’s vibe because they had no AC on and the windows open but it happened to be almost 100 degrees that night. Needless to say I was happy to have the cut out’s and a dress that didn’t show through.

If you happen to be in the market for a little black dress I can’t recommend this one enough and thank you for all the sweet messages of support over the past weekend!
