Morning and hello Monday!
I took a little break from social over the weekend and I have to say it was insanely refreshing. With much of my job being on a laptop and social media, I am generally strict with my phone use. I make a point to have my phone charger in my closet not my nightstand and plug it in at 7pm generally and don’t touch it again till the morning. Trevor starts work at 6 or 7am each day so I don’t have to worry about setting my own alarm clock 😉
However, after a while I always find myself falling out of these rules and using my phone too much. With all the turmoil unfolding in the world last week I found myself overwhelmed and more than ready for a break. My biggest advice: take breaks from your phone, you will realize how much you reach for it and it’s always nice to break the habit.
We had a nice low key weekend, both kids were home from school Friday and thankfully it was still a rare warm day so we walked the neighborhood looking at Halloween decorations and took a trip to the bookstore. We took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch, spent the day with friends at a neighborhood fest, and lounged around with my dad. It was just what we all needed!
I thought I would share a few things around the web that have caught my eye!
I haven’t thought about our living room rug in a while but recently had a few questions about it and went searching. I bought this rug when we moved in almost 4 years ago and it has held up so well! I didn’t want to spend a ton on a rug in what I knew would be such a high traffic area but I am still blown away at the quality and construction. It’s usually unavailable so I found this gorgeous rug created by the same line with amazing reviews in case you are looking!
Self-Silencing is Making Women Sick
I saw this article over the weekend and found it so interesting. The connection between psychosocial stress and these diseases is jarring to say the least.
Everyone’s favorite dress in now available in a metallic and I am obsessed. If you don’t know an iteration of the Somerset dress, you are missing out. I resisted for so long because they are a touch pricey but it truly looks good on everyone and I love the pockets and classic silhouette that works for everything from school functions to a girls dinner.
I may look like a UPS driver but now that the weather has cooled down I have been living in this crewneck and sweatpant set. I took my true size in the sweatshirt and sized down in the sweatpants!
If you love thrillers as much as I do, The Everygirl just released this list!
I buy these every year and find them to hold up so well! Now that it’s cooling down I figured some of you may be on the hunt and I can’t recommend these enough.
Speaking of fleece jackets, I recently snagged this and have already worn it on repeat the few days it’s been cold. Like everything they make it has amazing construction and detail. I always size down in their pieces and also found this look for less!
I’m under these sheet right now while I type this 🙂 These sheets are the best affordable find and we’ve owned them for years with no issues. I love that the fitted sheet has an extra elastic band that holds them tight so you don’t have to worry about them rolling up.
Trevor and I devoured this and I loved every minute of it. I didn’t know much about his rise to fame or his soccer career so I found that all interesting but it was also fascinating to watch their evolution as a couple and let’s be honest, the fashion.
Sheet Pan Gochujang Glazed Salmon
You know I love a sheet pan salmon dinner so when I saw this new recipe I added it straight to our menu this week!
I intended to really start this over the weekend but never got very far so it’s on my list for this week! So many of you messaged me you loved it so I can’t wait to get into it.
Hope you all have an amazing start to your week!
