Snapped this as soon as we hung the pendants! All other house details can be found here!
Happy Friday y’all! I’m not sure why this short week has seemed so long but I now know why parent’s always say they struggle when their kids are out of school. Not having Zain at school Monday just us both off and he was dying to go back Wednesday. He literally grabbed my keys and walked to the door 🙂 I am happy to report that it was the first day Zain didn’t cry at drop off though!
So on to today’s topic, our kitchen! I had shared with you all how we plan to potentially redo our kitchen in the near future so I didn’t want to do anything drastic to it like switch out countertops or backsplash. Even though I actually think backsplash is a great affordable way to make a kitchen feel different! I also linked all the exact products we used at the bottom of this post for you 🙂
I decided to change out the paint, light fixtures and hardware then see how I felt and potentially do more. Well, I am happy to say I love the little changes we’ve made and think they have made a big difference. I searched high and low for kitchen pendants and there are so many options! I told Trevor the other day that shopping for a house is paralyzing because the options are endless. I finally settled on these more traditional pendants since I wanted to keep things simple and classic. Maybe when we renovate we’ll do something more daring but I love the finish and look of these! I rounded up a few of my favorite contenders below in case you are on the hunt!
As far as paint, I shared colors and all details in this post but it was really the foundation for change. I think the new colors really brighten everything and add a nice bright pop of color.
After scouring the web for hardware at every possible turn I found some brass finishes I loved and was happily surprised they were available on Amazon and Walmart! Who knew Walmart had such great home stuff? I ordered all our knobs, cup pulls and drawer handles for under $200 and love them!
I love the look, texture and finish and they make such a big difference in the overall feel. Trevor absolutely loved putting them all in (can you feel my sarcasm?) but really it didn’t take us very long. Now that they are all up, I am on the hunt for a tiny light fixture for our Butler’s Pantry and feel like we will have made progress.
The before
The After – I think the lights, hardware and paint really give it a new feel
Hardware before and after!
Before – the pantry really gives you a better feel for the paint color change! Still searching for that perfect tiny pendant for in here…
After – thinking about a black pendant light in here?
This was a random phone snap to try to get help with these center railings on the shelves but thought it showed the hardware in our den well! Much more to do here including figuring out how to cover those up!
Let me know if you all have any questions at all and hope you have an amazing weekend!
I am debating replacing our current faucet with this one! I’m not sure how big of an impact it will have so if you have done it I would love to hear from you!
This is the light fixture I am debating for the Butler’s Pantry! It is a tiny guy but I think has some great character.
These are the handles we chose! I love them so much and the little detail is perfection.
These are the corresponding pulls which look great!
The matching cup pulls we used in the living room and wet bar!
Our pendant lights! I opted for the wire and not rod because I liked the contrast of the black and brass!
