Good morning and Happy New Year friends!
Man, I can truly not believe how quickly this past year has flown by and that we are already in 2020. As you may have noticed, I took a bit of a break from the blog over the holidays and am excited to get back into it this year! Life and work had been a bit crazy and it was really nice to disconnect and take a break from outside stressors. I tried to just enjoy the holiday season with my family.
I’m not someone who can usually allow that to happen, but it was a great lesson in just being and one I’m hoping to carry into the new year. I’m not setting ‘resolutions’ or specific goals for this new year but I do have a few intentions I want to hold onto this year. I find it easier to achieve and less stress to begin the new year.
This is always a goal of mine since I tend to lack a great amount of patience in general. Having Zain has taught me love and patience in a whole new way and everyday I find myself trying to be better. Sometimes it’s easy to forget little humans are just that, little. I often find myself expecting too much from my sweet toddler and remembering to practice patience is at the top of my list this new year.
I don’t know if this is something I’ve ever listed out as a goal or intention but I’m excited to keep it in the back of my mind this year. It can be easy to get stuck in a routine and automatically rule out things that may be new to us, but I am hoping to go forward this year with more of an open mind and heart when it come to experiences, friendships and family.
Focus On The Good
My friend Ashley and I were chatting the other day about this and it’s such an easy way to turn your day and attitude around. As someone who can easily get caught up in the negative and focus on the bad, I want to make more of an effort to see things in a positive light.
I hope that writing these down will help me focus on them as we navigate the New Year and wish you all the same! I also wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to you all for being such a supportive and amazing community. This blog wouldn’t be where it is without all of you and I am so thankful. Hope you all are having an amazing start to 2020!
