Our Formal Living Room & Entryway

Well guys, it’s nothing short of a miracle that new home content is finally live! Decorating is such a long process for me and although I never feel like something is truly ‘done‘ this room is about as close as it’s going to get. I thought I would share some information on the entryway as well since I was getting questions about it over on Instagram!

You probably remember me sharing tidbits on social media along the way, this blog post after we ordered and received our Interior Define sofa’s and chairs but I never got around to shooting it completed. As a general update, we love our sofa’s and chairs! They are so comfortable and I haven’t had any issues with stains or wear, even with Zain. I chose one of the pet and kid friendly fabrics and always keep my stain remover on hand in case I need it!

Overall, the vibe of this room is a little fancier than our den we spend most days in. I hope to entertain in this room but still want it to feel relaxed and gel with our home. It wasn’t an easy feat to fill so many built in’s but I was determined. I stopped at a lot of historical book sales and was excited to find some great reads on Louisville, Chicago and India. Once I started rolling, it slowly started to fill in and patience was key.

After the sofa’s arrived and the shelves started moving along, the coffee table was my next big hurdle. I love a good styling session on top of table but when I spotted this black iron glass table, all my dreams came true. I could decorate the table and not worry about Zain or other kids swiping things off. So far it’s worked like a dream! It also meshes well with our console table in the entryway right across from it.

I’m sure you also may have seen the drama unfold with this Anthropologie mirror. I absolutely love it but it was backordered for entirely too long and every time it was set to ship I would get another email that it was pushed back. By the time it finally arrived I had forgotten about it and when I opened it, it was SHATTERED. So many of you messaged me the same thing! So, I love it but also want you to beware you could wait forever and still be disappointed. Luckily, I found a local glass company that fixed it for me for a great price but I know some of you said you weren’t so lucky. I’ve also found a ton of similar mirrors since at local antique stores so check those out too!

I tried to include details on everything below and if anything isn’t linked, it’s most likely vintage. Let me know if you have any questions at all and cheers to many dinner parties in our future!

I absolutely love this room! It reminds me of my grandparents, but updated in a really modern way. It’s perfect!

Looks amazing! I scoured this post but can’t seem to find where the black lamp is that’s next to the fireplace?? Sorry if you mentioned it and I missed it somehow!
