Well, hello from Kentucky. As I had mentioned last week my mom and I drove home yesterday with Zain boo! Thank you so much for all the tips you guys sent me on Instagram–they were all so handy and I am happy to report we survived. The trip did take a little longer than normal but overall Zain was a sweet boy and we made it home without any meltdown’s and an ice cream treat for momma.
I’m so excited for today because two of my best girlfriends in life are coming over with their babies! While one lives here and I get to see her when I make it home, the other i flying in from NYC and it will be the first time we are all together with our babies. I have so been looking forward to this since I found out about the trip and can’t wait to share some adorable pictures on Instagram stories so get ready.
On another unrelated note, fall fashion.
I’m sure for many of you July is not the ideal time to start thinking about fall. You’re still trying to soak in all the sunshine and pool days you have left. However, I just stocked up on so many fall staples during the Nordstrom anniversary sale (are you tired of hearing about it yet?!) and thought I would share a few of my favorite trends for fall I think you should grab now.
Tie Front Tops
When I originally started scouring the internet for new fall trends I immediately knew a few I wouldn’t be on board with. Cue the big ruffle bell sleeves. Although I think they’re super cute on so many people, it is just not something I can pull off. I also mistakenly thought this about the tie front trend. I am a bit curvier on the bottom and thought this bunch at my hip level could be nothing but unattractive. Since I like the color on this sweater so much I decided to order it and try it on for size. Well, I fell in love. The tie is so flattering on everyone and I proceeded to then buy this sweatshirt–esque pullover and this top.
A Neutral Tote
I’ve always carried a tote bag with me and since my tried and true grey one has been falling apart, I decided to snag this and this. I am a huge fan of the Madewell transport tote’s and made the mistake of ordering mine last year in red. Although it’s super cute and a fun pop of color, I am generally in a more basic palette and will use these neutral bags far more often.
Chic Sneakers
It’s very convenient that as soon as I become a mom, cool sneakers are back in style. I had been waiting for this pair of Adidas sneakers to come back in stock for months so I was shocked when they were on sale. I ordered them immediately and have been wearing them non stop since. Make sure you order a half to full size down as they run really big!
I rounded up some of my favorites and hope you guys had a wonderful weekend and a sunny start to your Monday!
