I’ve never really though of myself as ‘boho’ but if this dress means boho I am fully on board. I spotted this piece online a few weeks ago and immediately knew I had to have it. The floral embroidery pattern is simply stunning and although it has sleeves the material is so breathable and it’s lined on the bottom so you don’t have to worry about show through.

I wore it last week for a fun day in the city. Living in a neighborhood sometimes you forget what a great city Chicago is. Downtown tends to be full of tourists and people working in finance, etc but there are so many pretty spots. We went for a walk down the river walk and enjoyed sitting on the steps and watching the boats and people in kayaks go by. Side note: I want to kayak and need to figure out how to make that happen.

We decided to grab lunch at Beatrix – if you haven’t been it’s one of my favorites in River North. Everything on  the menu is not only healthy but super tasty and then you don’t feel so bad about enjoying that crisp glass of wine in the sun.

The thing I loved the most about this dress is I found it to be flattering on every shape and size I saw when researching it. I think maxi dresses are so versatile and when they cinch in below the waist it adds shape in the perfect place. I also loved the lace up detail that I think is flattering if you happen to be busty and adds some oomph if you don’t.
