Ahhhh, Chicago summers. The few months when we all forget what winter looked like and decide not to move. Again. It’s like a vicious cycle in this city. As soon as you’re tired of the weather and ready to look at real estate in other places, summer hits and is like a wave of happiness. Nothing beats a Chicago summer and I can’t wait to get out and enjoy it this year with my new little family.

Granted, I know I may not make it to all of these things with a newborn and adjusting to a whole new life, but I know if I visualize it and write my goals down it’s far more likely. Summer plans seem to fill up quickly and the weekends just fly by. I’m hoping to carve out some time for these things well in advance so they actually happen.

Watch a Cubs Game

We haven’t been to a Cubs game since the first year we moved here. I’m not particularly interested in baseball games but I do love the atmosphere and a good hot dog and beer!

Hang on Parson’s Patio

We usually make it to Parson’s a few times during the summer but haven’t been since I threw Trevor’s surprise graduation party last year. Hoping we can hang with friends and play some table tennis while sipping negroni slushies sooner than later.

See A Movie In the Park

These always seem to fly by! We try to meet up with friends for a picnic and good movie in the park each year. They fill up so quickly in our neighborhood so hoping to actually make it out early this summer.

Plan A Museum Day

We really don’t take advantage of the museums, aquarium or zoo’s here enough and I’m hoping I can take Baby Zain this summer. Any recommendations for the best one?

Plan a Beach Day

Not sure I’ll be throwing on a bikini anytime soon, but a nice picnic on the beach sounds heavenly. We love going to Montrose Beach since it tends to be a little quieter, any favorites?

Head to Ravinia

I went to Ravinia for the first time last year and had a blast!!! It was such an easy drive and the experience was so fun. I’m keeping my eye on shows this summer and am determined to go again. Heard of anyone good coming?

What do you guys have on  your summer bucket list. Hope you all have an amazing week and cheers to some much needed sunshine!

  1. Such a pretty dress! I love the ruffled OTS! I also love your bucket list, and I think I need to make one too for this summer.

  2. Love this cute dress on you! And I’m totally down for a beach day!!! Zain’s gotta break out his swim trunks eventually 😉
