Happy Tuesday friends!
The rain is back making school drop off and getting to work less enjoyable but let’s hope this is just a sign spring is finally on it’s way and we are past the cold temperatures. I am really excited to talk about a new to the blog brand today! It’s not at all a new brand to me since I grew up wearing Marks & Spencer but I am excited chat more about their initiatives and some of their pieces today.
A little back story, Marks and Spencer is a UK brand that has a huge presence in India! Growing up, whenever we visited family over the summer I would buy and bring things back their pieces the US to wear. At that time, e-commerce wasn’t a thing and it was fun and exciting to have different clothing. I promise, I have always been into fashion 😉
Lately, I have been looking back into the brand because their women’s and kids clothing have caught my eye when I’ve been searching online for a specific piece. A few things I love about the brand and think you will too:
- They are focused on sustainability and ethical fashion and making advances and efforts I haven’t seen from other brands. Not only is their clothing made with responsibly sourced materials, they are made to last and they offer an amazing program where you can donate old clothes from any brand to be repurposed. They are also starting to integrate recycled materials into their clothing which is amazing. You can read more about it here!
- Their clothes are priced well. Not meant to be fast fashion but rather clothes that last it’s a great resource for basics and trendier pieces. You can find almost any style on their site and it’s a great spot for those looking for office wear that’s classic and flattering.
- The fit is great! I am sharing a closer look at fit over on my Instagram stories this afternoon but the size conversions are clear on each product and I have found them all to ring true.
- The shipping and returns are quick and easy! HUGE plus for busy women.
Today, I thought it would be helpful to show an easy way to take this floral midi skirt I fell in love with from work to weekend with just a few swaps! I included more detail about fit below with each piece and if you have any questions at all just let me know.
Midi Skirt | White Tee– Fit is oversized! I ordered a UK 8 but could have sized down if I wanted it more fitted. Personally, I like bigger tee’s so I didn’t exchange this. | Sneakers– I also ordered these in a UK 5 (US 7) and LOVE THEM! I have been searching for another pair of sneakers since I wear the one white pair I have constantly and I have already worn these 7 days in a row. No break in needed and they go with just about anything! | Straw Tote
Switching out a top, shoes and bag will totally transform a look and although the weekend look is much more my style I do have to dress up for work and other events and it’s nice to have classics on hand like this ribbed top and classic heels!
Midi Skirt– Fit is TTS! I’m wearing a UK 8 which is equivalent to a small. I love the light airy fabric and think it will be an easy wear all spring and summer long. | Ribbed Top– Fit is TTS! I’m wearing a UK 8 which is a US 4 and since this is more fitted you could size up depending on how snug you want it. I so think this style looks better fit to the body! | Nude Heels– These run a tad big I think! I am wearing a UK 5 which is a US 7 and I normally take a 7.5 in shoes but these fit perfect. The small heels and square toe are so chic. | Crossbody Bag– A great bag you can dress up or down that actually holds a good amount of stuff! I feel like most of my crossbody bags are on the smaller side and this has room for all my mom stuff.
I also picked up a few other things I saw so thought I would share those too! I am most excited about the Zain’s new ‘Brother’ sweatshirt and this Midi Dress that I think will save me during pregnancy!
Floral Midi Dress | Girls ‘Unique’ Sweatshirt | Boys ‘Brother’ Sweatshirt
Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far and let me know if you have any questions on sizing!
