I’m not sure I would categorize myself as a ‘trendy’ person. Sure, I love a good statement piece and generally try out a few new things each season but you probably won’t catch me in a pair or frayed jeans, embroidered jackets or any out there makeup trends. I’ve been wearing mules and oxfords for years. They are comfortable and mesh well with my relaxed style so when I saw Everlane released a new slide, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
If you haven’t heard of the brand, they are a favorite. They make these amazing oxfords I wear all the time and love how their brand boasts ‘radical transparency’ meaning they let you know how much their products cost to make and what you will pay for it. Beyond being unapologetically honest, their products are made impeccably. Trevor always comments that he wishes they made men’s shoes bc the quality is so amazing and he doesn’t often comment on my fashion, ha!
On a normal day, I would immediately jump to the black pair but something about this white shoe grabbed my eye. I decided to go for it and am now here to tell you to do the same! I have been able to wear them constantly and they look so fresh for summer. Not to mention, they don’t scuff and I get compliments on them constantly. On a sizing note, they do run small! Definitely order a 1/2 size up from your normal size and they will fit you like a glove.
I threw them on last week to meet Blair for a work day downtown and had just snagged this maternity off the shoulder top from Ingrid and Isabel too. Although, I avoided maternity clothes for much of my pregnancy third trimester has proven to be a time to be comfortable and invest in a few pieces. I will always share a non maternity version and this one is almost identical if you are in the market. I love the color and delicate eyelet detail.
We grabbed lunch at my favorite spot downtown, Beatrix. I got my usual salad and tried their new lemonade and totally recommend it. I hadn’t had lemonade since I was a child and it was oddly everywhere we went in Arizona so I started trying it and am now obsessed.
What do you guys think of the slide trend?
