Dress: Ingrid & Isabel (c/o) Non Maternity Version | Shoes: Dolce Vita (c/o) | Handbag: Madewell (c/o) | Earrings: Anthropologie | Sunglasses: Le Specs (c/o) | Lips: NARS
Before pregnancy I wouldn’t say I was a maxi wearing girl. For one, they are never long enough on me and would usually hit me above my ankles, not doing anything for my body shape. Well, all that has all changed. The ease and comfort of them has totally won me over! I recently snagged this Ingrid and Isabel one in two colors and have been living in it.
It’s a wrap dress with the perfect shape. It has a button closure on the inside, gathering at the right spots, and the cutest tie on the side. It actually makes me feel totally held in and comfortable at the same time, which is a hard task these days. Not to mention, it’s actually long enough for me to wear flats with and I haven’t taken it off much since this day. I was meeting Trevor for a dinner date in the West Loop. It’s so rare that he gets done with work before 9 or 10pm during the week, so the meals we enjoy together have become few and far between.
Luckily, his fellowship is nearing the end and his work hours will hopefully be far better next year. However, it doesn’t end till after our baby boy is set to arrive so the amount of date nights we’ll be getting may still be challenging. I’ve been trying to book reservations at restaurants we want to try for any weekend night we may have free and really take advantage of this last bit of time we have together with just the two of us. We spent so much time hoping and praying for this day to come, it never really sunk in that it wouldn’t be just the two of us anymore. As excited and overcome with joy for Baby T’s arrival, I also want to soak up every minute I can with my husband.
I threw on these new black sandals, some funky earrings with a bit of lipstick for date night and couldn’t have been more excited to enjoy this amazing weather. Hope you are all having a wonderful start to the week!

I always struggle to find a perfect-length maxi dress too. This one looks great on you! The wrap part is hugging you at just the right spot. Those sandals are really cute too, and I like that this is a dress you could dress up or down. Hope you enjoyed your first Mother’s Day yesterday. 🙂
Me too, it was such a treat to find this one! Aww, thank you – I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!
Maxi dresses like this are perfect for pregnancy and definitely flatter the bump! Love this one on you, especially with those cute statement earrings!
