I’m sure blazers aren’t new to anyone but this season they have taken on a whole new meaning. For a long time, the only blazer I saw was a fitted tailored version that was for all intensive purposes preppy. Although it wasn’t totally my style I still loved the way people (men and women) wore them and longed for one a little edgier in style for myself.

My prayers have now been answered. When I was browsing Nordstrom a few weeks ago (my favorite place to shop—what’s better than fast shipping and free returns so I can order multiple sizes to try) I stumbled upon this slightly oversized plaid blazer. I loved the pattern, detailing and cut so I immediately ordered two to make sure I found the right size. 

Topshop on Nordstrom is one of my favorite brands to browse. They always have super affordable options that are on trend and easy to style. I do find that the brand runs a little smaller so if you are new to it, I reccomend ordering a few different sizes to see what suits you best. For reference, if it is a fitted piece I will almost always order a 4 and if something is for layering or a coat I want to wear sweaters underneath I’ll go with a 6!

Topshop Favorites:

I decided to pair the blazer with a classic but cozy look for date night out with Trevor! We don’t get them often enough and since my mom is in town visiting we are trying to take full advantage. These black ripped jeans are some of my favorites since they feel like pajamas and I love this oversized sweater. I usually tuck it in if I’m pairing it with jeans and untucked if I’m throwing it on with leggings. 

Favorite Blazers:

We headed out to Duck Duck Goat for dinner and I was thankful I wore these stretch jeans since I could barely hold it together when we were done eating. Have you guys been? It’s so good!
