Oh hey Lincoln Park, it’s so nice to see you.
It’s been a while since I spent a day in the neighborhood. Despite it being directly next to our own neighborhood, I haven’t found myself there in so long. Lincoln Park used to be Chicago for me. Before I moved to the city I would visit often the city fairly often. I had both friends and family here and since it’s the closest ‘big city’ to Louisville, it’s quite a hot destination. Each time I would come I would stay with my friend who lived on Armitage right across the street from Starbucks.
I vividly remember wandering the streets and stopping in the bagel shop and boutiques that mostly still remain. We would sit outside on her patio, people watch and enjoy the summer weather (I mean who visits in the winter?) It’s crazy to think I have now lived here for 6 years and that street is mostly the same. I think because it was the most familiar to me, we chose not to live there and have also ended up not spending a ton of our free time there either. There is so much to do in the city and so many new developments that it seems silly to not explore them when you have the time.
However, last week I had a project in the neighborhood. We were shooting the Alice & Wonder Lookbook and our call time was 8am. We were done in the early morning, which was really lovely. It was a beautiful cool day and Blair and I spent some of the afternoon walking around and grabbing lunch at LPQ before sitting down to work. It reminded me of how charming the streets are, every doorstep more unique than the next. It was a great reminder that classics aren’t always a bad idea and exploring the things closest to you can always reveal new surprises.
After the shoot I was excited to throw on some comfortable clothes and finally break out my clogs! Despite my husband’s confusion, I love these. They are so easy to slip on and the tassels on the front are so chic. I thought they paired perfectly with my denim mini and this rust longline sweater. Long cardigans are some of my favorite transitional pieces and I couldn’t walk away from this beautiful rust color. Forever 21 is one of my favorite places to pick these up! They are thin, airy and always so affordable.
Hope you guys are having a great week and survive Monday!

Love these clogs! That area of LP is seriously gorgeous. One of my friends lived right there for years, I was there ALL the time, and to think we never fully took advantage of all the great restaurants. (But the shopping…definitely)
