i’ve always been a fan of Rent the Runway and the fact that a chicago storefront is opening up makes my life! i used the service back in September for my 30th birthday and wore an amazing white jumpsuit with the most adorable checkered clutch for under $100. it’s great for events where you wanna wear something fun & new but would never buy the pieces for fear of not getting much use out of them.
frankly, i’m devastated this didn’t exist when i was in college and going to formals and dances all the time. you end up spending a ton on gowns or cocktail dresses and hardly ever use them again.
Rent the Runway is the perfect solution. i was in a serious pinch last week when i realized my friend’s wedding was black tie and i didn’t have a floor length gown. i was able to reserve two dresses (that come with 2nd sizes for free to make sure the fit is perfect) the day BEFORE i left town. i shipped everything to my parent’s house & my package arrived by 10am saturday morning.
it was so helpful to read the reviews and see actual pictures of the dresses on women. you get a much better idea of fit and material than stock photos websites use.
i loved both this red number and the jumpsuit i ended up wearing but just felt the Halston piece was more me. it’s so great to have options and if you don’t procrastinate like me and order early enough and something doesn’t work you can call them and they will overnight a new dress to you.
i’m afraid this may become an addiction with the local store opening their doors in the gold coast! it’s kind of amazing that same day rentals will be available and you can avoid shipping fees by picking up in the store. they’ll also have stylist appointments available for $25 and after you fill out your style profile you can drop in & try on a slew of dresses chosen for you. i know you’re watering at the mouth just like me so here are all the deets:
