With The Kentucky Derby weekend quickly approaching I have mint juleps and derby pie on my mind. For those of you not from Kentucky you may not get the same exciting feelings as the first weekend in May approaches. I have always loved Derby season and it makes me excited to think we may move back one day and get to enjoy those things all over again not as a visitor. This year we were all set to head to a Mexican resort with my parents but sadly because of the Zika Virus & me being so paranoid we cancelled our trip and may now make it home. Even though I may not be there I will be in spirit and thought I would share this look I think is perfect for the festivities and perfectly casual but fun.

This dress is a steal from Nordstrom and perfectly comfortable in all the right ways! It zips up to a pretty fit on the top half and the chiffon like overlay patterned material is beautiful in the wind and just reminds me of an outdoor event. The back detailing straps are something different and I loved pairing it with this boater hat. Truth be told I love going to Oaks more than Derby and think this would be perfect for either. You could always switch out the heels for something a bit fancier and I can guarantee you would be comfortable all day. Comfort is key at Churchill Downs when you are up and out all day and usually after the races are over too!
