Well, I feel like this is my first post showing off the new bump and it makes me so happy! I am 20 weeks now and have been feeling great so far. I’ve been trying to embrace the bump and my go to outfit has been a fitted dress and an oversized cardigan and flats. All about comfort these days, am I right? I initially thought wearing more oversized pieces would make me feel more comfortable but I’ve found it makes me feel far more frumpy. I’ve also been on the constant search for maternity jeans (so much harder than I imagined!) and can’t wait to share what I’ve found with you all soon!
I was getting a tad bit dressier last week for a date night with Trevor to celebrate some huge news for us (hopefully I can share soon!) and wanted to look pretty but not be stuffed into something. This midi dress has been in my closet for quite some time and I’ve found my form fitted dresses work perfectly during this stage of pregnancy. Although it’s still fairly easy to hide the bump, I am enjoying embracing it with fitted outfits and loved the way this leopard coat looked with it.
For a bit of edge, I added my oversized faux fur coat and a casual pair of slides. I think the casual shoe makes the coat seem less costume like. With such a bold print and statement, I think keeping things casual works best.
If a coat is too much print for you to start with, I highly reccomend starting small. A leopard clutch, sweater or pair of flats are all on trend right now and the perfect way to dip your toe in without feeling overwhelmed. With winter dragging on for what seems like forever in Chicago, it’s always nice to add a pop of print or color to your wardrobe. Honestly, it just improves my mood!
Have you guys been incorporating more print this winter? Also, thanks for all the sweet love on my growing bump – you sure know how to make a pregnant girl feel better about her expanding figure.
