well, this past weekend went by WAY too fast. every trip home seems to never be enough and we always find new places & things we love. while walking around market street (NuLu to locals) we came across this chalk art outside the local Speed Museum’s office. no need to worry because there is chalk left in a tray & you are encouraged to leave your own message. this is just another example of why we love this city so much. after my mother confusingly read some sarcastic answers aloud we decided to fill in our own!
since we had a wedding in the early evening on saturday i wanted to throw something on quickly to run around town & since i’ve finally found a pair of jean shorts i love, this was the result. i’ve never owned a good pair of jorts and always felt they were too tight in the legs. i wanted something relaxed through the legs and fitted at my waist and this pair made all my dreams come true. it’s actually my first pair of Joe’s Jeans and i love the stretch in them!
since i knew i would have to fix my hair that night (my weekend quota was met hah) i just threw my hair up in a bun. i love this turban because it makes doing that a little cuter. i normally don’t accessorize much but this ASOS headband was such a bargain i couldn’t pass it up. these look super cute with your hair down too but i love getting my hair off my neck during the summer.
this outfit would have looked more relaxed with sneakers or flats but i love these DVF wedges & they make it so easy to never want to take them off since they mesh with any color combo. sadly, these were a Marshalls find and have been sold out online forever. however, i linked a pair of Dolce Vita wedges above that i can’t get enough of & are 50% off at the Nordstrom sale!
let me know how you like the headband & how your weekend was! i’m still struggling to get back into the work week…

Definitely a fan of the headband! They never seem to look quite right on me, but you rock it 🙂 I’m visiting Chicago in September and following all of the amazing bloggers there has my list of things to do and see overflowing!
thanks jess! that’s what i always thought too but this one worked finally 🙂 oh that’s awesome let me know when you’ll be here and maybe we can grab coffee if you are free! xox
The turban look definitely works for you! I like the DV wedge option you’ve linked. The metal details are perfect!
