Our topic of discussion today is one of my most favorite items of clothing: the shirtdress. 

After sharing a few of my favorites over the years I received some requests for a roundup at different price points and figured this was the season. I truly feel like they are the most versatile and classic pieces in my wardrobe. They stand up across seasons and trends and in my opinion will always be in style. I shared a few ideas below and ways I have switched them up in the past but there is truly no wrong way to go about it! 

Wear with a belt

A few of mine have optional belts that come with them which is always nice but I go back and forth on using them. If you are someone who feels overwhelmed by a shirtdress and the fabric, throw on the belt and cinch that waist. It will give you an instant curve and is fun to switch up with different textures in your closet.

Probably my favorite way to wear them! I love the oversized and flowy feel of a shirtdress and it’s perfect for a hot summer day. It’s easy to wear and feels light chasing my kids around while still leaving me put together. Bonus points if it’s longer in the back!

I’ll find a way to wear them all year and layered with a sweater and a tall pair of boots is classic and stunning! I prefer an oversized chunky knit but have also used a crop knit with a belt for daytime events.

I’ll repurpose mine as pool cover up in the summer and wear them unbuttoned!
