A few weeks ago, I posted a Q&A on Instagram Stories and a recurring question was how I manage to meal prep and cook all week. It’s obviously been challenging the past few months with no stove but my biggest secret is I don’t go to the grocery store!
I don’t think I have been inside a grocery store for over a year thanks to Walmart +! I have shared about the membership many times before and we are generally so happy with it. They offer free same-day delivery from your store ($35 order minimum, Restrictions apply) Aside from that amazing perk, the prices are truly the same! There is no markup or hidden fee and everything you order is the same price as it would be in store which is amazing.
I try to meal plan on Friday, place a big grocery order on Saturday and meal prep for the week a tiny bit on Sunday. What I usually run out of mid-week is fresh fruits and snacks for the kids 😉 I never want our fruit to go wasted so Walmart + helps me place another order mid-week for delivery and keep our fruit bowl full. I use the Walmart app to order and it takes me under 10 minutes which is what we all need, less time grocery shopping. Our current fruit favorites are peaches, strawberries and mangos! We’ve been finding ways to use them in everything from smoothies to cakes.
A few notes about the membership:
- Groceries are picked from your local store right before delivery, keeping the freshness.
- After the free trial, Walmart+ costs $98/year, or $12.95/month
- Membership pays for itself with just two deliveries per month (based on the $7.95 delivery fee)
