With Christmas right around the corner, my home is all about holiday entertaining. Whether it’s the girls dinner I chatted about last week, couples cocktail parties or just a festive dinner for Trevor and I – I love holiday entertaining!
The best trick I’ve picked up along the way is to make your dishes easy. Nothing tedious and time consuming, so you aren’t spending your evening in the kitchen instead of with your guests. Using my Crock Pot® slow cooker is the perfect solution for making delicious dishes while saving on time and clean up.
These Honey Garlic Meatball appetizers are a favorite in my family and I try to make them every holiday season. When we were younger my dad was a department chair at our local university. Each year, my mom would host everyone in the department for an annual Christmas party. Since Indian food is her forte, she was always looking for tasty but simple recipes everyone would love. These were always a hit and now my husband can’t get enough of them!
They are the perfect finger food for guests to snack on before dinner and easy to portion out with toothpicks. You can always add a little bit of fun decor to the toothpicks to make them even more festive but the taste will do all the talking!
You can start off with any meatball recipe you prefer, I shared my favorite before. I try to make the meatballs on the smaller size. You want them to be easy and bite size for people to enjoy while chatting without being awkward with their mouth stuffed.
After you roll the meatballs, simply mix the marinade. I try to use as many organic items as I possible, especially when it comes to the honey. After coating the meatballs, you can just set them to cook for 4 hours on low and get back to other tasks.
Right now, they’re also offering an awesome discount on Crock Pot® slow cooker’s! Make sure to check it out, they make a great Christmas gift!
What appetizers do you guys always make in a pinch?
- 1 1/2 lb Lean Ground Meat
- 1/4 Cup Dry Bread Crumbs
- 1/3 Cup Onion, Finely Chopped
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tsp Parsley Flakes
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/8 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/3 Cup Honey
- 1/2 Cup Ketchup
- 2 Tbs Soy Sauce, low sodium
- 3 Cloves Garlic, minced
- Mix meatball ingredients well in bowl, roll into small sized meatballs and set aside
- Mix glaze in bowl and pour over meatballs in crockpot
- Cook on Low for 4 Hours and cool before serving!
- If interested, I like to top with sesame seeds and serve with toothpicks for entertaining!
