Happy Tuesday y’all! I’m excited to share this beach inspired hair look with you today. Like so many ‘hair goals’ I have it looks so easy on celebrities and you tube sensations and then I sit down to braid my hair into a similar look and look like a hot mess. I think even the ‘easy’ laid back hairstyles take more work than you think, hair extensions & other secret products. I am not talented enough or patient enough to deal with most of those things so I’m always on the hunt for effortless ways I can style my hair that are easy and quick. 

My hair does have a bit of wave to it and I used this Suave Sea Mineral Sea Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner I snagged at Mariano’s (you can get it at any Kroger or banner store) to give it that extra messy feel before even styling. It adds the volume that my thin hair needs and makes it easier for me to style those loose curls with my flat iron. After showering I let me hair air dry and then touch up the pieces with a flat iron. The loose curls are easy to do – just make sure you curl away from your face and leave the last inch untouched and straight. When your curls go through to the bottom of your hair I think it starts to look more polished and refined. After curling just separate pieces and tousle them from underneath. I like to spray this Dove Style + Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hair Spray at the base of my curls and then work in with my fingers. It helps give it that ‘bed head’ feel and gives it some volume that will last. 

If you want to leave it down I think it looks beautiful but the summer heat sometimes gets to me so I like to take two strands from the center part and twist them back and use bobby pins in a triangle to secure them. Spray again lightly and it can last you days – I sometimes even think the curls look better hours after I fix it or the next day.
