I hope you guys are having a good Friday & thank goodness the weekend is just a few hours away! I am excited to share a fun Chicago city guide I wrote for Design Sponge a few weeks ago with you. When i first moved to this city 5 years ago (can you believe it?!) I thought I knew what to expect. Having visited all the time and seeing my brother and cousins living here I thought I had a good grasp on where to go and what to do. I quickly learned that was not the case and that this city had so many amazing things to offer beneath it’s crowded downtown. The neighborhoods are really where I connected and found a home in Bucktown. We now spend most of our time in our own neighborhood, Wicker Park or Logan Square and appreciate the local small business.
The purpose of my guide was to give morning, afternoon and evening options for different areas of the city and some spots off the beaten path that most tourists wouldn’t think to stop at.
We love dining at parsons and it’s so wonderful that the patio is still being enjoyed. The Logan Square farmer’s market is by far our favorite and although it’s only held outdoors for a few months they actually do have an indoor market during the off season.
I hope you guys enjoy it and find some new spots to try. PS please let me know any new ones you have stumbled upon lately because you know we are always looking to explore!
I LOVED reading this post Shaheen! Hopefully we can try some of these places when Matt and I come visit (soon I hope!)
