Chicago winter can get brutal. It seems like it’s been going on forever and the sad truth is we have months left of this. A favorite spot to venture to when the cold gets to me is the conservatories! Chicago has some amazing spots run by the park association that are totally free of charge and an amazing warm oasis.
A few weeks ago, we took my nieces and nephew to the Garfield Park Conservatory. It’s an amazing spot for kids! It’s fairly large, has cute little tunnels for the kids to walk through to learn about the plant and a kids section complete with a slide and games. I had been so many times and never realized what a great spot for kids it was. Baby T will be there quite often once winter rolls around I’m sure.
Last week, I met Blair at the Lincoln Park Conservatory to wander and relax. We honestly enjoyed sitting in the warmth and chatting. It makes you feel like you are somewhere completely different and that’s nice when it’s colder than Mars outside (not letting that one go…) With my bump not quite looking nice and round yet I’m sticking to looser clothing and I loved this outfit. These joggers are the softest material and the elastic waistband makes them perfect for pregnancy. I have had them in my closet forever but been wearing them far more often these days. I paired it with an oversized chunky knit and some grey basics since I knew we would be working later that day.
These loafers have been on rotation in my wardrobe for years and they tend to go in and out of stock. I linked a few options above but I would always check back frequently because your size will eventually come in! I also am so happy Nordstrom brought this tote back! They had sold out in the grey color and I am tempted to buy another one just for backup. I use this bag everyday and love the size and texture, pus it’s such a steal!
After wandering in the warmth we headed to Left Coast Food and Drink for lunch before working at Heritage Bicycle Shop. It’s a great workday spot because the two are just a block away from each other and the food at Left Coast is to die for. I had the California Love wrap and it was sooooo good, definitely reccomend. After we headed to Heritage and cozied up with our laptops for the rest of the day. If you haven’t been it’s a coffee shop/bike repair shop that is so cute. My only advice is to go early because it’s not huge and the tables fill up really quick. Also, I’m not currently drinking coffee but their lavender latte is real good.
I’m getting ready to graduate to maternity jeans since the hair tie trick is on it’s last leg and have been having the hardest time finding anything I like. I can’t tell you how many leggings and jeans I have ordered and returned, so if you have any specific brand recommendations please send them my way!
Shaheenie, you are the CUTEST with your little bump! Ahhhh! Sounds like such a nice. Missed you guys today!! XOXO
Awww, thanks Kelly! We missed you so much today – especially my cranky pregnant self haha!
