Good morning and how is it already MONDAY?
The kids and I have zero plans today and it is supposed to rain all day so say a prayer for me 😉 I am thinking of busting out the Covid craft kit during Zahra’s morning nap for Zain and convincing my kids to have a low key day.
I’ve been trying to share more of our favorite smoothie and protein shake recipes over on stories. I feel like we make them once a day during the summer because a cold shake always sounds good. It’s also a great way to get more veggies in the kids! I shared my personal fave combo below along with a few from some of my favorite women in food.
If you are looking, we swear by these smoothie cups. I have had them since Zain was probably 2 and they have never spilled and been pretty easy to clean with the brushes. You can also grab replacement straws to switch out!
I also recently upgraded our blender to this refurbished Vitamix! We had the Ninja previously and while it’s a great it really doesn’t compare. I’m also excited to use this for soups and other mixes I could never get smooth in the Ninja. It was a Prime Day deal but I will keep my eye out for sales for y’all!
As far as protein goes, I don’t include it in the kid’s smoothies although I know they have children’s versions. Trevor and I both use this HMR chocolate protein and the Ritual Vegan Vanilla protein! They are both delicious and the vegan protein doesn’t taste chalky at all to me like most others.
