Can we believe Christmas is already over? I hope you all had the most amazing weekend! Zain isn’t totally aware of the whole Christmas situation but he loves looking at lights and we don’t have to buy him presents so it’s a win win, ha! He’s finally feeling better thank goodness! Thanks to all the mama’s that reached out on Instagram about his Croup. Your stories and recommendations really meant all the world to us and it’s so nice to talk through things with other mom’s that have or are going through the same thing. We ended up canceling our trip home to Kentucky since he still wasn’t feeling like himself Friday. Flying for the first time with a sick baby didn’t seem like the greatest idea and we really didn’t want him catching something else. We felt so bad for canceling but think we made the right decision and it’s all working out since Trevor’s parents are coming to visit this weekend!
Last week, Trevor happened to randomly have the day off which is so nice after he was on call all last week and weekend. I was able to sneak away for a tiny bit to shoot with a new photographer (more on that soon!) and then we took Zain over to the Lincoln Park Zoo for the zoo lights later!
Today’s photos were shot over by the zoo when I met Melissa at the Lincoln Park Conservatory. I’ve mentioned it before but if you haven’t been it’s a great escape for both adults and kids during the Chicago winter. There is always so many beautiful things to see and learn about and the toasty temperature inside is an added bonus.
This outfit is one of my favorites: fun and comfortable. I’m a huge fan of pairing sweaters with skirts and think an oversized sweater looks good with not only pleated midi skirts but silk ones as well. I kept mine simple since the gold is so bold but loved the simplicity and thought it looked chic without looking frumpy. Also, a great outfit idea when you want to eat 😉 I rounded up some of my favorite midi length skirts for this season below.
Hope you all had an amazing Christmas weekend and travel safe if you are getting home today!
