Good morning friends!

Life has surely changed quite a bit around here since our little girl’s arrival and we appreciate all the love and support being sent our way. I am so excited to finallys share our almost complete nursery that is just waiting on some final touches.

I feel like this room has been in progress for months and months. I am normally pretty focused on decor projects once I start and like to wrap them up quickly. However, quarantine started shortly after I began working on the room and threw a bit of a wrench in the plans. Not being able to physically look at pieces in local stores was a bummer and delivery times were much longer, which is understandable.

It did end up slowly coming together and our last pieces arrived just a couple weeks before delivery! I also realized we wouldn’t share the room till after she was here since I had a nameplate created and we decided not to share the name with anyone prior. We did the same thing with Zain (well, we really hadn’t decided) but it just made it easier to not take other people’s opinions into account.

So, onto the room! The first thing we decided on was the wallpaper. I knew I wanted a bold green print but wasn’t going for a ‘jungle’ theme by any means. I just wanted something bold to bring some color into the room and play off some of the softer features I was planning. I ordered a few samples from our go to, York Wallcoverings and left them hung on the wall for a few days before deciding. I love how this turned out and it was so easy to hang! I did this by myself while 25 weeks pregnant so trust me anyone can do it!

After that, we had a few things already set aside like Zain’s old dresser, mirror and changing pad. We also had her crib which I shared with you guys early on here! We moved all of that into the room to get a better visual and then I chose the rug and chair next. I knew I wanted some pink (more on the mauve side) in the room and thought this rug was simple, clean and perfect for the space. It’s a great price for the size and comes in a few other neutral colors. We just placed a rug pad underneath to keep it from moving but love it so far! I wanted something soft enough for her to play on and love the way it ties everything together.

The next thing I was on the hunt for and shared with you all when I found it is this amazing chair! I had looked at ‘nursery’ chairs and couldn’t believe how expensive they were. I loved the look of white/off white and wanted something that could swivel but wasn’t really set on a rocker. When I came across this and saw the more affordable price point and great reviews I thought it might be too good to be true. Luckily, it isn’t! It’s incredibly soft, deep enough for me to cross my legs in and has great support. This chair would be gorgeous in a sitting room also!

After that, it was time to add some accessories most of which I already had my eye on. I love these acrylic shelves and had browsed a few less expensive options online but kept coming back to these. The others didn’t seem to have the same dimensions or sturdiness.

I also added this glass lamp and paired it with a linen shade I ordered and a few baskets I had and this laundry bin next to the crib. I wanted a laundry basket that blended with the room so I didn’t have to hide it in a closet since hers isn’t very large.

I was then pretty set on having her name on something over the crib but just couldn’t decide. At first, I was determined to do a neon sign but I got scared I would worry too much about it being over her bed. I then stumbled upon these acrylic sign made by a small business and loved them! I went with the white acrylic and was surprised when it arrived that they included the whole block. Funny enough, I liked the negative more than the cut out intended to hand and think it’s looks perfect on the wallpaper!

Lastly, we made the bigger purchases once we saw how everything felt in the room. I decided on this light fixture I am over the moon about. Lulu and Georgia is one of my favorite retailers for lights and I couldn’t believe how affordable this one was. I also picked up these cast iron curtain rods and blackout curtains!

Curtains and curtain rods are always so costly but I think they make such a difference in a room. We have tall ceilings so having to order the 108′ version adds to that but I always go with West Elm or Pottery Barn and are never disappointed in quality. We have the blackout versions in Zain and Zahra’s rooms and they work so well!

I left some open space on the walls for artwork because I have a few ideas for things I want to add along the way!

Hope you are all doing well and thank you again for all the love and support!
