What I Packed For Charleston

Apr 3, 2022

Good morning from packing land!

Tomorrow is the first day of our Spring Break and we hit the road bright and early for Charleston. I always get questions on why we drive instead of fly and there are a couple reasons! Flights in and out of Louisville aren’t super convenient for finding direct flights can be a pain. Also, we need a car with the kids and the beach/activities so when you factor in getting to the airport early, flying, waiting for a rental car and then driving to the beach with is about 30-40 minutes outside of Charleston it just doesn’t seem worth it. It’s never been a huge debacle so fingers crossed for today’s trip!

I have been trying to share these packing posts when we travel just to ease things along and you all seem to enjoy them. Everything I packed in one place and I will also save a highlight over on Instagram

Clothes

AGolde Parker Shorts: Have owned and relied on these for years, here is a full post about them!

Z Supply Shoulder Tank: My tank is currently on clearance and a great basic to have on hand. I am a longtime fan of this brand and trust all of their products! Runs roomy, I’m in an XS.

Gap Floral Midi Dress: Another item I shared last week that I just picked up! Love the light material, pockets and cinched waist. Runs roomy, I sized down to an XS.

Shoulder Pad T-Shirt Dress: This was an impulse buy for the trip but I really wanted a loose/throw on and go dress for ease and I loved this style and the $19 price tag. It also comes in a grey stripe and I’ve been very happy with it so far, runs TTS. Similar dress here & here

Likely Rosa Dress: This is another older dress that I love bringing on vacation! The cut outs are in a comfortable and flattering spot, the length is great (I’m 5’8″), and the tie-dye is so subtle. It’s currently more than half off here and here but sizes are limited. Similar: here, here, and here

En Saison Flutter Sleeve Dress: A favorite summer purchase, runs very large so size down.

OPT Toile Dress: Almost identical to mine and on sale for under $50! I would stay TTS.

ABLE Jean Jacket: A denim jacket is my go-to on warm weather vacations and I searched far and wide to find the perfect one last year. This denim can truly not be beat! It’s soft, has the perfect amount of texture and is a great color. The Old Navy version is a great alternative at a more affordable price and I also size up in this to a Medium for a relaxed fit.

Knit Crop Top: This is on sale for under $30 and I think it’s so fun for warm weather or vacation. You could pair it with high waisted jeans or a skirt and I love that it’s a knit material so not flimsy at all and stays in place easily.

Tiered Midi Skirt: Believe it or not I bought this for our Babymoon that never happened almost 2 years ago and am finally going to have somewhere to wear it! Brings me great joy 🙂

White Eyelet Dress: I wish this was still in stock but like many of the things I packed, it’s old and sadly sold out. A few similar dresses that are on mega sale: here, here, here & here

Long Sleeve Linen Shirt: Shared this on stories last week and highly recommend if you are looking! Buttery soft linen, longer in the back and has held up well. Plus, the $20 price tag is great!

Trevor’s Clothes

Lululemon Hoodie & Joggers: I’ve talked about these many times but had inquiries about what he was wearing and loved so much that he now has 3. These are pricey but after gifting him the first pair and seeing how much he used them, I recommend them to everyone! Run TTS, he wears a large in them.

Swim & Cover Up

Old Navy Bikini Top & Bottom: GUYS, buy this bikini. It is the most flattering suit I’ve put on my body in a very long time. Full coverage bottom and lined top that has adjustable straps!

Jade Swim Yellow Bikini: I purchased this before our Florida trip last year and was intrigued about everything I had read about the brand. It essentially feels like a comfortable and stretchy sports bra and bottom and I found everything to run TTS. I don’t believe my yellow color is available any longer but they sell the exact same style in several other colors here, here, and here

LSpace White Cover Up Dress: I finally bit the bullet last year and invested in this cover up. I had been grabbing $20 versions from Amazon for a few years but found myself having to buy new ones each season because they wouldn’t hold up. My thought process was that this was a classic silhouette in a solid color that I could use forever so I invested in it. So far, so good and I love it!

Caftan Cover Up: I bought this on a whim in H&M a while ago and love it so much as a cover up. It’s light and breezy and also comes in a neutral beige!

Good American Black Belted One Piece: This was a new purchase for our trip because I’ve been waiting a belted one piece and I love the way this fits. Good backside coverage and adjustable straps!

Scallop Two Piece: I bought this several years ago and it’s served me well. It’s lined so not see through at all, has pads, and has good backside coverage. TTS, I’m in a small. This one is pretty similar with a few different necklines as well!

Tie Dye Bandeau: LOVE this suit! It fits great, is so flattering and the top is completely adjustable. Has pads and runs TTS.

Sarong Cover Up: Another great high waisted piece that is easy to throw on and go! I love this for beach or pool days when you don’t want to lug a full cover up around.

Sun Hat: Gosh, I can’t remember how long I’ve had this but it’s been forever. I always pack it upside down and stuff something in the crevice so it keep shape while traveling!

Vienna Hat: This is a newer to me hat that I stumbled upon because I desperately needed something with a strap so it doesn’t fly away and my kids can’t rip it off.

Jewelry & Sunglasses

Square Tortoise Sunglasses: I bought these $13 sunglasses for the trip and am now obsessed with them. I wanted a pair I could throw around and push up on my head and not worry about ruining and these fit the bill!

Black Sunglasses: These are prescription and my everyday glasses! I think they look flattering on everyone I see them on and were well worth the price tag for someone who hates/can not wear contacts!

Tennis Necklace: I bought this about a month or so ago to layer with my gold paperclip necklace and love it. It’s under $30 so I don’t worry about traveling with it!

Gold Huggies: I own these in the solid version and stone and love them both! I have owned the stone version for almost 2 years and they have held up great.

Bubble Huggies: These are a newer buy and I love them! A little warmer gold than my other huggies but they look great together.

Beauty Products & Sunscreen

Gold Bond Neck Cream: You know I don’t travel without my neck cream and this $10 bottle seems similar to the $100 bottle I was using before :/

Bare Minerals Eye Masks: These are my favorite to travel with! They are like a cool refresher for your face and always make me feel depuffed from traveling.

Handheld Steamer: Always a must when we travel! I am sometimes scared to use irons or steamers in hotels for fear of what stains they may leave and this is so easy to throw in our bag so I usually bring it along.

Supergoop Unseen & Glow Screen Sunscreen: My go-to sunscreens that I use daily and take everywhere with me! The Glow is very subtle and I actually like it for everyday use.

KN95 Masks: These are the masks I prefer and will be traveling with! They fit my smaller face and have a great fit over the nose.

Workout Gear

Tennis Dress: I finally found a tennis dress I loved and it fits like a glove. By that, I mean It’s loose through the hips and thighs which I prefer. Built in bra is the best and it runs TTS!

Beyond Yoga Biker Shorts: These are my OG and I highly recommend them even if you are timid about biker shorts. They are that amazing stretchy soft material only BY has, are a flattering worn in wash, and a great length that doesn’t ride up. TTS, if in between size down.

Athleta Cinch Bra: This is definitely more of a crop top than bra and I snagged it during the Athleta Semi-Annual sale. I have a longer post coming with a full review of everything I ordered but this is one of my favorite finds. Stayed TTS, I’m in a small.

Athleta Ribbed Crop Top: Another sale find that I fell in love with. It reminds me a lot of the Amazon ribbed tank I own and love but with a great v-neck detail. I also swooned over this color and grabbed the leggings below to make a set.

Amazon Short Sleeve Crop: You all have seen this top a million times before, I love the cut and fit. Make sure to wash this on delicate and line dry but it’s so worth it! Runs TTS, I’m in a small.

Amazon Quick Dry Shorts: Another oldie but goodie, these shorts fit so well and I love their loose fit around the thighs. Not constricting at all and the sweat wicking is great. Run TTS, I’m in a medium.

Lululemon Belt Bag: I have owned this forever and prefer it for solo workouts! It’s small, sleek and holds just what I need. If I am running around town with the kids or need something to carry a bit more, I go with my Target fanny pack

Shoes

Two Strap Sandal: I looked at these sandals a million times before I finally hit purchase before this trip and I’m not sure why. They are a simple classic style that I love, have a easy to walk in heel, and I really like the slightly square toe. I went with the black croc but now really want the nude pair as well. Run TTS, if in between I would size down.

Tkees Sandals: These go everywhere with me and are my most worn summer sandal. The brand really does make quality products that last at a great price point. TTS.

Brooks GTS 21: I did a lot of research on running shoes before investing in these last year and I have never been happier. Run TTS for me.

Nude Slides: I think these fit and feel very similar to my tried and true fuzzy slippers meaning that I love them. Run TTS but if in between I would size up!

Fuzzy Sandals: My OG slides! I am not one to walk around barefoot anywhere so yes I take house slippers on trips 😉 Run TTS but if in between I would size up!

Hope this is helpful and you all are off to somewhere warm this week!
