4 Pairs of Shorts I Can’t Live Without

May 17, 2021

Good morning!

How is everyone’s weekend going? I just wanted to pop on real quick since I shared a fun Reel this evening over on Instagram showing off my 4 favorite pairs of shorts for summer. If you have been around for a minute you know I am not the biggest fan of shorts in general. I prefer a high waist, loose leg holes that don’t cling to my thighs and a longer length. Is that too much to ask 😉

Over the years I have slowly built a collection of a few pairs that I continually turn to. The only new addition is the $15 Target pair but everything else has been in the rotation for years. I thought I would break down each pair in a little further detail for you all as well as include some sizing info.

If you have any questions at all feel free to reach out and I hope you enjoyed the Reel!

AGolde Parker Short

These are my oldest and priciest pair! I have dedicated blog posts to why I think these shorts are worth the $128 price tag and I stand by that. For me, they are the most effortless color of blue denim and have just the right amount of distressing. I like that the length is appropriate and never feel uncomfortable running around with the kids in them. I believe I have owned them for over 5 years at this point and they just get better with time. They run TTS and are very roomy in the thighs. I prefer my shorts on the looser side so I took a 27 in these! (more AGolde here)

Free People Makai Short

I bought these shorts right after I had Zahra. I knew my Agolde’s wouldn’t fit me right away and I had been wanting a black pair! I loved the $68 price tag and that the legs were a bit longer. I think these are a more classic pair of jean shorts and come in a classic blue color. They have a good amount of stretch and run TTS for me but like with all Free People I would size up if in between. (more FP here)

Wild Fable Distressed Shorts

This is my newest pair and one I just picked up a few months ago! I saw them hanging in the store and the $15 price tag and thought I would give them a try. They are great and comes in a ton of washes. I loved the high waist and loose leg areas and purchased them to wear around on the weekends when I am likely going to get dirty with the kids. This sizing is a bit tricky because it is more of a young adult line so I sized up a few sizes. Mine are a 10 but are a bit too baggy on me recently so I would probably recommend just going up 2 sizes!

Universal Thread Shorts

These are a few years old and although the exact version isn’t sold anymore, I have tried these on and I believe they are the exact same style just with a different waistband. I love how they can be dressed up or down and feel easy to throw on over a swimsuit or out to lunch. Run TTS.

Hope this was helpful and let me know if you have any questions at all!
