Good morning!

How was everyone’s weekend? We had Trevor’s work dinner Friday night at Seviche and although I definitely kept this black dress (I’m obsessed) I ended up wearing my new sock booties with you guessed it, a midi skirt and sweater! It suddenly dropped to freezing temps and the skirt and sweater just proved to be a little warmer. It’s quite fitting since this look is on the blog today and I’ll be sure to share a snap of my other skirt and knit on Instagram this week.

Besides that we had a playdate on Saturday with our friends Dustin and Christine and their son Myles which is always fun. Our sons are so close in age and play so well together plus we love them as a couple so it’s a win win. Trevor was beyond excited to test out his new cast iron grate to make smash burgers. He has honestly been talking about them and showing me videos for weeks! I thought about putting together a post with some of his best grill recipes but not sure if that would be helpful or not? They definitely lived up to the hype (I like thin crispy diner like burgers) and it was a great low key way to hang out with friends.

As for today’s post I can’t recommend this combo enough. Dresses can get tiresome during the winter when you feel like that or jeans with booties are your only option. I think this is a great way to reuse spring/summer items (this skirt is actually from a spring line) and look chic at the same time. It could also be a great option for work!
